Heading into the final week of the season Lubbock High led Monterey by game for the fourth and final playoff spot in district 4-5A.
The Westerners needed one win over the their two game series with the Plainsmen to clinch a trip to the playoffs.
Monterey made things interesting with a 14-7 win on Tuesday, meaning Friday night’s matchup was for all the marbles.
The Plainsmen came out on top with a 7-0 win clinching the fourth and final playoff spot in the process.
