Monterey hosted Frenship at Lady Plainsmen Field on Friday evening in a 2-6A district matchup.
The bats got going early for both teams. Frenship scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but Monterey responded with one of their own in the bottom half of the inning on an error by Frenship. In the second, Monterey would keep the bats going adding two more runs to make it 3-2. Monterey would go on to win 8-3.
Next up for Monterey they will visit Coronado on Tuesday. Frenship will host Tascosa on Tuesday.
