The Coronado Mustang baseball team kicked off the 2016 First Bank Classic on Thursday morning with a matchup against El Paso Americas at O’Banion Field.

In the first, the Mustangs got on the board first, scoring two runs, one on an RBI single from Jake Pfeiffer and the other on an Americas error. In the second, the Mustangs added to it, using a Ryan Acebedo triple to plate two runs, then Acebedo was awarded home after a throwing error. The Mustangs went on to cruise in this one, 9-1.

On Friday, the Mustangs will be in action twice, at 10am against El Paso Coronado then at 7pm against Andrews. Both games will be played at O’Banion Field.
