Sunday afternoon #23 Texas Tech fell to #18 Arkansas 10-6 to close out the Houston College Classic.
In the bottom of the first inning the Texas Tech (6-2, 0-0 Big 12) exploded for five runs to lead Arkansas (8-0, 0-0 SEC) 5-0 after one.
From that point the Razorbacks scored eight unanswered runs to claim an 8-5 lead through four and a half innings.
The Red Raiders would tack on another run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the Razorbacks lead to two runs.
However, in the top of the seventh, Arkansas would tack on two more insurance runs and hold on for the 10-6 win over Texas Tech.
The Hogs retired the Red Raiders’ final 8 batters of the game to close out the win.
Texas Tech will travel home and return to action when they host New Mexico State on Tuesday, Mar. 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Dan Law Field.
