Sunday afternoon No. 25 Texas Tech blew past Milwaukee in the series finale 12-0, in route to taking the series 3-1. The Red Raiders improved to (3-1, 0-0 Big 12) this season.

Tech has now won their season opening series for the third-straight season.

On the mound, Tech true freshman LHP Erikson Lanning made his debut for the scarlet and black, and picked up the first win of his Red Raider career.

Lannning’s final stat line: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K on 76 total pitches.

The Raiders were led offensively by junior third baseman Ryan Long who was 3-of-4 at the plate, including 4 RBI on the afternoon. 

Tech scored five runs through the first five innings, inlcuding 3 in the first, however, they exploded for seven more in the bottom of the eighth inning to inflate their lead to 12-0. 

Texas Tech will travel to Huntsville next and return to action against Sam Houston State on Wednesday, Feb. 24 with first pitch on-tap for 6:30 pm.
