No. 4 Texas Tech pounded Oklahoma State in game two, 8-2, to even the series with the Cowboys one game a piece.
Tech’s sophomore left-handed pitcher Steven Gingery was masterful once again, as he tossed six innings of two-hit baseball, while allowing just one earned run and added nine strikeouts. The California product is now 8-0 on the year, with a 1.49 ERA, striking out 76, and only walking 16.
After a solo home run by OSU’s freshman catcher Michael Nuestifter, the Cowboys took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. However, in the bottom of the frame, Texas Tech (33-9, responded with four runs of their own and they never looked back from there on.
Offensively Tech was led by senior first baseman Hunter Hargrove who finished 2-for-3, including a double with 3 RBI.
Tech will face Oklahoma State on Sunday, April 23 at 2 p.m. at Rip Griffin Park in a rubber match.
