Since Patrick Mahomes declared for the NFL Draft after the end of the 2016 Texas Tech Football season, the questions seemed never ending.  Where will he be drafted?  Is he good enough to be a first round pick?  Those were answered within the first ten picks of the 2017 NFL Draft as the Kansas City Chiefs moved up to make him their guy.  The Chiefs traded their second round pick in 2017 and their first round pick in 2018 to move up to ten to get Mahomes.  This is the highest that any Texas Tech quarterback had been drafted in the history of the program. Mahomes will more than likely sit behind veteran QB Alex Smith while learning from QB Guru and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.  The last Texas Tech football player drafted in the top ten by KC, E.J. Holub at number six in 1961 when the Chiefs were in the AFL and still in Dallas as the Texans.
