Today at the Rawls Course sixteen Special Olympics athletes competed in the Area 17 golf competition.
The event included a short putt, long putt, chip shot, pitch shot, iron shot, and wood shot competition.
There was a nine hole alternate shot event after the individual competitions were completed.
Members of the Texas Tech Women’s and Men’s Golf team participated alongside the athletes, Kyle Hogan was one the team members who was at Saturday morning’s event.
“Their parents and some of their coaches told us they think it’s really awesome that we’re out here I mean anytime we’re able to do something like that where we can help these make these kids lives better for a day we love to come out and help them.”
