Texas Tech senior linebacker Dakota Allen was named to the watch list for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy on Tuesday.
The award is given annually to the top defensive player in college football.

It’s Allen’s third preseason accolade to go along with his spot on the Bednarik Award watch list and preseason All-Big 12 selection.
Allen led the Red Raiders with 102 tackles in 2017.
The FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club will announce five finalists for the Nagurski Trophy on Nov. 1. The winner will be chosen from that list of five finalists ahead of the Dec. 3 trophy banquet held at the Charlotte Convention Center.
