LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech’s regular season series finale with New Mexico was ugly but it goes down as a 6-4 Red Raider win.
Texas Tech loaded the bases in four of the first six inning but managed to plate just four runs during that stretch.
The Red Raiders faced nine different New Mexico pitchers and stranded 15 runners on base, but Josh Jung came through when Texas Tech needed him in the seventh inning.
Jung drove in the go-ahead run with a double off the wall in center field scoring Dylan Neuse to put the Red Raiders ahead 5-4.
Cameron Warren would bring in Brian Klein on a ground out to give the Red Raiders a 6-4 lead.
Taylor Floyd picks up the win in relief. The junior struck out six batters in 3.2 innings of work.
The Red Raiders return to Big 12 play when they host Oklahoma State at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Rip Griffin Park.
