The Lady Raiders added another tally in the win column with a 78-61 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday.
The Lady Raiders improved to 3-1 on the season.
After a 17-12 first quarter, Texas Tech pushed its lead to 20 points with back-to-back 20-point quarters. Brittany Brewer hit back-to-back free throws to spark the Lady Raiders’ 12-3 run in the third quarter. Tech held off the Islanders to just three points in the final three minutes of the third period.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi tried to respond late in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Lady Raiders’ lead.
Four Lady Raiders scored in double figures for the third straight game. Texas Tech has had three or more players in double figures in all four games this season. Brittany Brewer led the team with a career high 16 rebounds and 17 points, marking her sixth career double-double. Senior Zuri Sanders recorded her second straight double-double, fifth of her career with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
