Coming off record-setting performance, freshman point guard Chrislyn Carr was named Big 12 Freshman of the week by the league office.

Carr led the Lady Raiders to an 86-67 victory over Nevada on Saturday, marking the first non-conference true road win in six years. She posted a career high 35 points, 13 FG makes and six steals against the Wolf Pack. Of her 35 points, 27 of them came from beyond the arch.

The freshman broke a 24-year-old school record for 3-point FG attempts with 21 attempts. The previous record was set by Noel Johnson three times during the 1993-94 season. Carr also tied a 14-year-old school record for most 3-pt FG makes as she hit nine in the contest. The previous record was set by Alesha Robertson against Miami on Dec. 6, 2004.

Carr became just the 18th player and fourth freshman in school history to score 35+ points in a single game and joins junior Brittany Brewer with 30+ points in a game this season.

The Lady Raiders return to action on Tuesday as they host Southern for the fifth annual Education Day. Tipoff is set for noon at United Supermarkets Arena.
