Texas Tech football announced two additions to the coaching staff on Friday.
Clay Jennings, who spent last season as the co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach at the University of Houston, will coach defensive backs at Texas Tech. He takes over for Karl Scott, who left to become the defensive coordinator at Louisiana-Lafayette.
Kliff Kingsbury also announced the addition of Brett Dewhurst to the defensive staff on Friday.
The former Texas Tech defensive back will serve as an assistant coach and will work with the safeties.
New NCAA rules allow teams to have ten assistant coaches.
Kliff Kingsbury still has three positions to fill following the departures of Scott, Eric Morris, Jabbar Juluke and Joe Robinson.
