The Texas Rangers drafted Texas Tech’s Josh Jung with the eighth overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft..

Jung was named the Big 12 Co-Player of the Year this past baseball season after hitting .333 with nine home run and 49 RBIs in the regular season.

Jung becomes the first Texas Tech Baseball player to be drafted in the first round since Donald Harris was taken fifth overall by the Rangers in 1989.
