Kansas State Holds Off Lady Raiders, 65-53

After a strong start, the Lady Raiders dropped a tough game to Kansas State, 65-53, Wednesday night inside the United Supermarkets Arena.

The Lady Raiders (11-10, 3-7 Big 12) jumped out to an 8-0 lead to open the game. Kansas State (17-6, 7-4 Big 12) called a timeout to break the momentum and responded with seven points of their own to pull within one.

From there, the two teams battled back-and-forth until the Wildcats took a 29-26 advantage heading into the intermission.

K-State opened the second half with a 20-point third quarter and kept the lead for the rest of the game.

Tech out-shot the Wildcats from beyond the arc, 36.4 percent, while holding KSU to just 27 percent.

Two Lady Raiders scored double-figures for the 19th time this season. Senior Ivonne CookTaylor led the team for the third straight game with 17 points, two rebounds and two steals. Freshman Brittany Brewer followed with 14 points of her own, marking her fourth double-digit game of the season.
