The Texas Tech Lady Raiders dropped their second straight game to a SEC opponent in LSU, 48-40, Thursday evening at the United Supermarkets Arena.

LSU (4-3) held Texas Tech (3-3) to less than 10 points in each quarter, taking a 23-16 lead into the half.

The Lady Raiders battled back, cutting the Tigers lead down to just three late in the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough to hold off LSU.

LSU’s Raigyne Louis finished with 17 points, marking her seventh double-digit game of the season.

Senior Brielle Blaire and junior Recee Caldwell led Texas Tech in scoring with 10 points each. Sophomore Brittany Brewer posted a season-best 10 boards and eight points while tying her season-best of four blocks.

After Tech cut the lead down to three, the Tigers went on a 10 run late in the fourth quarter to
Gain a 34-44 advantage over the Lady Raiders.

POST-GAME NOTES

  • LSU now holds a 9-1 lead in the all-time series and 3-0 advantage in Lubbock.
  • The Lady Raiders move to 84-63 all-time against members of the Southeastern Conference.
  • Tech had atleast two players in double figures for the sixth time this season.
