Lady Raiders Fall to TCU, 70-63

The Texas Tech Women’s Basketball team lost another heartbreaker in the final minutes to TCU, 70-63, on Wednesday.
 
The Lady Raiders fall to 10-12 on the season, 1-10 in Big 12 play while the Horned Frogs improved to 17-5 and 7-4 in Big 12 play.
 
TCU opened the game on a 9-2 run just before Chrislyn Carr sparked a 5-0 run, putting the Lady Raiders within two in the first quarter. Erin DeGrate made a jumper at the buzzer to cut the Horned Frogs lead down to three.
 
The Lady Raiders doubled TCU’s score (24-12) in the second half to take over the lead and hold a 38-29 lead into the half.
 
TCU battled back in the second half and cut the Lady Raiders lead down to 55-48 with 10 minutes to play.
 
The Horned Frogs outscored Tech, 22-8, in the final quarter of the night.
 
TOP PERFORMERS
Texas Tech: Three Lady Raiders scored in double figures led by freshman Chrislyn Carr who scored 17 points. Junior Brittany Brewere recorded her 11th double double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Sydney Goodson followed with 10 points.  
 
TCU: The Horned Frogs had three players in double figures led by Jordan Moore who posted 20 points and 13 rebounds. Amy Okonkwo followed with 14 points while Kianna Ray scored 10 for the Frogs.
