Monterey’s Braxton Fulford won’t have to go far to continue his baseball career.
The Plainsmen catcher signed a letter of intent with Texas Tech on Monday at Plainsmen Alley.
“The recruiting process was easy with the coaches and everything,” said Fulford. “They’re reasonable and the atmosphere was great there. The school I already know a lot about it so it was a pretty easy choice going there.”
Fulford had 48 hits in 84 at bats during his senior season. He had 13 doubles, three triples, a home run and 37 runs batted in for the Plainsmen and struck out just five times all season.
Fulford also leaves with his names in the school record books. His .571 batting average is the highest in a single season in Monterey history.
