Oduduru, Kittley Earn Big 12 Postseason Awards

Divine Oduduru and Head Coach Wes Kittley were awarded Big 12 postseason awards, the league office announced Friday.

Oduduru claimed the Male Performer of the Year award after winning the 100m and 200m at the Big 12 Championships and being named the High Point award for scoring the most points at the meet.

Coach Kittley was awarded the Men’s Coach of the Year after leaded the Red Raiders to indoor and outdoor Big 12 championships for the first time in program history.

“Divine was spectacular in the Big 12 meet,” Kittley said. “Running in the 100m, 200m and on our 4x100m relay team was something special to watch and I’m really proud of him.”

“I am very humbled with the honor of being Coach of the Year. My assistant coaches and my team deserve this award as much as I do. I am very thankful for this honor, especially since it’s voted upon by my fellow coaches.”

This is the third time a Red Raider has been selected for the honor. Kennedy Kithuka won the award in 2014 and Benard Keter was the 2017 award winner. This marks Kittley’s second time to be named male coach of the year. He last won in 2014 when the Red Raiders captured the Big 12 outdoor title.

The Red Raiders head to Sacramento, Calif., next week for the NCAA West Prelims. Competition starts on Thursday, May 24, with the men’s hammer at 2 p.m. (CT).
