Texas Tech battled back from a three-run deficit but Davis Martin could not hold off the Horned Frogs in the Red Raiders 6-4 loss to TCU Friday in Fort Worth.
Martin surrendered a three-run double to Adam Oviedo in the bottom of the first inning. The junior would settle down after that until the fifth.
He entered the bottom of the inning with a 4-3 lead thanks to Grant LIttle’s go-ahead sacrifice fly in the top of the frame.
Martin would issue his sixth walk of the game to start the inning then give up two-run home run to A.J. Balta that would end Martin’s night and the Red Raiders chance at a series opening win.
Texas Tech tries to even the series at 7 p.m. Saturday at Lupton Stadium.
