Texas Tech announced the hiring of former catcher Hunter Redman as a volunteer assistant coach.
Redman served as a student assistant with the Red Raiders last season and takes over the volunteer assistant coaching duties of Matt Gardner, who was named pitching coach during the off season.
Redman was a member of the 2014 College World Series team and spent three years playing minor league baseball before returning to Texas Tech.
