LUBBOCK, Texas — Texas Tech was able to avoid losing assistant coach Mark Adams to another college this off season, but what if the NBA comes calling?
Jeff Goodman, Stadium basketball analyst, reported on Wednesday that the Chicago Bulls are showing interest in Adams.
Texas Tech assistant/defensive coordinator Mark Adams has emerged as a candidate to join Jim Boylen’s staff with the Chicago Bulls, source told @Stadium. — Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanHoops) May 9, 2019
Goodman also added that according to a source, Adams was expected to meet with Boylen in Chicago on Thursday.
Ryan Hyatt, Talk 1340 radio host and theraiderland.com founder, confirmed the report Wednesday on Twitter.
Fact. Can confirm with high confidence Boylen met with Adams last week in Lubbock. The interest is mutual and real. A deal for Adams would be around 600K. Up to Adams at this point, just like last week. #TexasTech has made good-faith effort. Business. #4To1 #WreckEm https://t.co/iCGvkedTnV — Ryan Hyatt (@RyanHyattMedia) May 9, 2019
Adams was one of two finalists for the Southern Miss head coaching job earlier this off season.
