Texas Tech softball made easy work of Northern Colorado and Gardner-Webb on day one of the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classi Friday at Rocky Johnson Field.
Adrian Gregory’s team topped Northern Colorado, 8-0, in five innings. Jessica Hartwell tied Mike Kenney for the school’s career home run record (45) when she hit her sixth homer of the season in the third against the Bears.

In game two, Texas Tech blanked Gardner-Webb, 8-0, in five innings as well. Missy Zoch gave up one hit in five innings of work to improve to 7-0 on the season.
The Red Raiders (21-1) return to action against Jacksonville State at 4 p.m. Saturday.
