The Texas Tech Women’s Tennis Team held onto a No. 8 ranking in the latest Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings this week while five singles players and a doubles duo earned individual rankings.

The Lady Raiders held onto the No. 8 ranking for the sixth straight week.

No. 7 Gabriela Talaba moved up six spots in the latest rankings after defeating No. 6 Alle Sanford (UNC) in straight sets at the ITA Indoor National Championships. With the ranking, she is the highest ranked player during the spring season in school history. No. 41 Felicity Maltby moved up three spots after she posted a 1-1 weekend at the national tournament, picking up a win in straight sets over UCLA’s No. 57 Jada Hart.

No. 68 Sarah Dvorak made a huge jump in the rankings this week as she went 2-1 at the national tournament. Dvorak picked up two wins over ranked opponents including a comeback three-set win over UCLA’s No. 31 Abi Altick.

No. 98 Sabrina Federici dropped a few spots after losing her first match of the season. No. 101 Katelyn Jackson jumped into the rankings this week, marking her first singles ranking of her career. 

Doubles duo Dvorak and Federici dropped to No. 21 after a 1-1 weekend at the ITA Indoor Nationals.

The Lady Raiders are set to host Arizona on Friday at 2 p.m. and No. 37 NC State on Sunday at noon.
