Texas Tech confirmed Tuesday afternoon that defensive line coach Kevin Patrick has left the coaching staff.

According to reports, Patrick has left to take the same position at North Carolina State.

The 2016 season was his first and only season in Lubbock as a part of Kliff Kingsbury’s staff.

Patrick was a part of a defensive staff that led the Red Raiders to an FBS worst, No. 128 ranking in total defense. Last season Tech’s defense gave up an average of 554.3 yards per game, which was also an FBS worst. The Red Raiders were also No. 116 in rushing defense, allowing 238.6 rushing yards per game.
