The Red Raiders fell to Iowa State 31-13 on Saturday at the Jones.
Nic Shimonek tried to find Desmond Nisby on the screen, but was picked off by Marcel Spears who ran it to the house to extend the lead 31-13 in the fourth. This play was ultimately the end to a long day for the Red Raider offense.
Texas Tech had -5 passing yards in the first quarter. Additionally, Texas Tech couldn’t find a consistent kicker after a missed PAT on the first offensive drive of the game.
The Cyclones pulled away in the second quarter with a total of two touchdown’s with one to receiver Allen Lazard and Matthew Eaton. Texas Tech would try Matthew Cluck at kicker for a field goal that would miss wide left.
Nic Shimonek scored his first rushing touchdown of the season in the third to make it 24-13 before heading into the fourth.
The Red Raiders will have to prepare for the Oklahoma Sooners as they head to Norman for a primetime kickoff at 7 p.m.
