Texas Tech hit its first bump in the road in Big 12 play, falling to Oklahoma 75-65 Tuesday in Norman.
Too many turnovers and too much Trae Young in the second half led to the Red Raiders’ (14-2, 3-1) first loss since November 30 against Seton Hall.
The Red Raiders held Young to a season-low five first half points on 1-of-12 shooting and led 31-29 at the break.
Young finished with 27 points and 9 assists.
The Red Raiders turned the ball over 11 times in the first half and finished with 15 in the game.
Texas Tech started the second half 3-for-13 from the field but was able to put together a 7-0 run to pull within five points with 8:22 remaining the second half.
The Red Raiders cut the deficit to 63-59 on a Tommy Hamilton three pointer with would get no closer in the ten-point loss.
Senior guard Keenan Evans led the Red Raiders with 19 points in the loss.
Texas Tech returns home to host No. 2 West Virginia at 1 p.m. Saturday at United Supermarkets Arena.
