Chris Beard’s 18th-ranked Red Raiders made history on Tuesday in Lawrence.

Texas Tech beat No. 10 Kansas 85-73 for the program’s first-ever win at Allen Fieldhouse.

Senior guard Justin Gray scored the first eight points to give Texas Tech an early 8-2 lead over Kansas.

Brandone Francis capped a 15-2 run to give the Red Raiders a 23-7 lead.  

Texas Tech led 43-32 at the half.

The Jayhawks’ 32 points were the lowest first half total of the season.

Texas Tech’s entered the game ranked second nationally in scoring defense allow 58.2 points per game. Kansas entered the game ranked 13th nationally in scoring with 87.8 points per game.

The Red Raiders return to Lubbock to host Kansas State at 3 p.m. Saturday at United Supermarkets Arena.
