Texas Tech will be among the first teams to kick off the 2018 football season Sept. 1 as the Red Raiders will face Ole Miss in an 11 a.m. kickoff from NRG Stadium in Houston. Television coverage will be provided on ESPN.

The AdvoCare Texas Kickoff announcement was one of four game time and television selections released Thursday by the Big 12 Conference and its television partners ESPN and FOX Sports. FOX will carry Tech’s other two non-conference games against Lamar on Sept. 8 and Houston on Sept. 15, while ESPN will air the Oct. 11 road game at TCU.

Both the Lamar and Houston games will kick off at 3 p.m. from Jones AT&T Stadium. FOX Sports Regional Networks (FSN) will cover the Lamar game, while the Houston game will air nationally on FOX.

The Thursday night showdown at TCU will also be in front of a national audience on ESPN, beginning with a 6:30 p.m. kick at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. The remaining conference games on Tech’s schedule will be announced throughout the season on either a 12 or six-day basis.

Tickets are still on sale for the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff against Ole Miss as prices start for as low as $52 a person. Season tickets are on sale as well and can be purchased online or by contacting the Tech Ticket Office at 806-742-TECH.
