After a slow start and overtime, Texas Tech dropped its fourth conference loss to Kansas State 42-35 in the Jones on Saturday. Offensive struggles continued in the first half as the Red Raiders totaled just 14 points.
Defensive lineman Kolin Hill was ejected from the game for targeting Wildcat quarterback Alex Delton in the second quarter of play.
In the third, Texas Tech and Kansas State took turns in the endzone. Nic Shimonek found his groove pulling away in the fourth to go 34 of 52 with one interception and four touchdowns.
After settling for a field goal and Clayton Hatfield kicking it wide, the Wildcats would answer with a touchdown and two-point conversion to tie it up 35-35 with less than a minute remaining in the game.
The Red Raiders will look to head to Arlington next weekend to face the Baylor Bears who are coming off their first win of the season. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
