Former Texas Tech head football coach Tommy Tuberville hasn’t made many friends in Lubbock since leaving the program in 2012 for Cincinnati.
Tuberville probably didn’t help his cause with the remarks he made during an interview Wednesday on the Rick & Bubba Show, a snydicated radio show based in Alabama.
“You run me off at Auburn and you ship me to Lubbock, Texas,” Tuberville said on the radio show. “I’m going to tell you what, that’s like going to Siberia. Somebody asked me, ‘What’s Lubbock look like?’ It looked like Iraq.”
Tuberville went on to say “I love those people out there.”
He was 20-17 during his three seasons at Texas Tech before leaving to take over the Bearkats program.
He resigned from Cincinnati following a 4-8 finish in 2016.
