Women’s Tennis Adds Monica Robinson to Staff

Monica Robinson has joined the Texas Tech Women’s Tennis staff as a volunteer coach, head coach Todd Petty announced on Monday.

“I’m very excited to have Monica join our coaching staff,” Petty said. “She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our program. I know she will be a great addition for this team.”

Robinson comes to Texas Tech following her four-year college career at the University of Notre Dame.

During her senior season, Robinson was named to the All-ACC Second Team and All ACC Academic Team and was the ITA Midwest Region Most Improved Player.

She was also selected for two of Notre Dame Athletics’ most prestigious honors, the Byron V. Kanaley Award and Francis Patrick O’Connor Award, and became the first Notre Dame women’s tennis player to win the National ITA/Arthur Ashe, Jr., Sportsmanship & Leadership Award.

Throughout her career, Robinson posted a 73-49 singles record and 58-88 doubles record.

She qualified for the 2015 NCAA Doubles Championship and the 2014 USTA/ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Doubles Championship along with teammate Quinn Gleason during her sophomore season.

Robinson graduated from Notre Dame in May 2017.
