According to a report, Texas Tech and Ole Miss will face each other in a neutral-site contest in Houston in 2018. The game will likely be played at NRG stadium, the home of the Houston Texans.
The story was first broken by ESPN’s College Football Analyst Brett McMurphy:
Texas Tech, Ole Miss have agreed to open 2018 season in Houston, sources told @ESPN— Brett McMurphy (@McMurphyESPN) August 11, 2016
If the report holds true, it will be the Red Raiders third non-conference game against an SEC West opponent in four seasons, after Tech concluded a home-and-home series against Arkansas in 2014, 2015.
The Red Raiders 2018 non-conference schedule already includes the likes of Missouri State to open the season, and Houston to round out the slate.
