Texas Tech running back Da’Leon Ward left practice early on Tuesday with a left leg injury.
Ward was helped off the field and then carted from Jones Stadium to the training room.

The sophomore was the team’s leading rusher last season with 428 yards and started four games as a freshman.
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury addressed Ward’s injury following Tuesday’s practice.
“It sounded positive coming off the field so hopefully that’s the case,” Kingsbury said. “He’s a tough kid. Obviously, if he’s going to stay down it’s going to bother him.”
Kingsbury said Ward would likely have an MRI Tuesday evening.
Texas Tech returns to practice on Thursday and then holds it’s third and final scrimmage of the spring at 7 p.m. Saturday at Jones AT&T Stadium.
