The Sudan Nettes and Sundown Roughettes met at Frenship High Monday night in a regional quarterfinal matchup.
The Nettes had a 20-17 lead going into the half, after Sundown scored 5 unanswered points to end the first half. In the third, the Roughettes scored the first 4 points, taking a 21-20 lead. The teams would exchange baskets, until the Nettes went on a 8-0 run to end the quarter, giving them a 32-26 lead headed into the final quarter.
With 40 seconds remaining, Reese Randolph knocked down a 3 to pull the Roughettes within one, but the Nettes would knock down free throws the rest of the way, giving Sudan the 47-42 win, after losing to Sundown their prior two meetings.
Sudan’s next game will be Friday against the winner of Gruver and Wellington. Sundown finishes the season 26-10.
