Tech Baseball Blanked by Texas A&M

Texas Tech ran itself out of an inning then Texas A&M ran way with a 9-0 win in the two teams first meeting since 2012.

The Red Raiders had two on with no outs in the top of the second inning when Josh Jung’s line drive was snagged by second baseman Braden Shewmake for the first out of the inning.

On the next at bat, the Aggies picked off Tanner Gardner and Zach Rheams to end the Texas Tech threat.

Shewmake would also take care of business at the plate for the Aggies.

He capped a three-run third inning with a two-run home run to right field to put Texas A&M up 4-0.

The Aggies would chase Davis Martin after driving in another run in the fourth.

Martin went 3.2 innings and gave up five runs in his first loss of the season.

The Red Raiders (9-2) return to action against Ole Miss at 12:05 p.m. Saturday at Minute Maid Park.
