On senior night the Texas Tech men’s basketball team held off Kansas State 80-71, and sealed their NCAA tournament hopes. 

Texas Tech (19-11, 9-9 Big 12) secured the program’s first .500 finish in the Big 12 regular season since 2006-07.

Texas Tech started the game off in an early hole, trailing Kansas State by as many as 12 points in the first half, but Tech closed out the half on a 25-5 run to take a 36-28 lead into the locker room. 

In the second half, the script was flipped. The Red Raiders led the Wildcats by as many as 18 in the second half, but K-State battled back to make 59-51 with 6:46 remaining in the game.

However the Red Raiders would hold off K-State, edging the Wildcats 21-20 over the final six minutes and change, to hold on for the 80-71 victory.
