For the third straight game Texas Tech scored over 50 points and this time, it translated into a 59-45 win over Louisiana Tech.
Patrick Mahomes was spectacular once again throwing for 470 yards and five touchdowns while Jonathan Giles had one of the best games of his career with three touchdowns and 186 yards receiving
One difference in this one was the running game, Demarcus Felton carried the ball 16 times for 123 yards and two TD’s. In total the Red Raiders gained 196 yards on the ground.
The bad news though, the Tech defense allowed 572 yards of total offense and struggled once again stopping the run.
The Bulldogs gained 261 yards on the ground and averaged 7.3 yards per carry.
The Red Raiders are off next week, the next game is scheduled for September 29th when Tech opens conference play against Kansas at the Jones.
