The Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championships get underway Friday at the Lied Recreation Center in Ames, Iowa.
The men head into the weekend ranked 13th nationally.
“I think you are going to see on the men’s side it’s a really a three or four team race between Texas, Kansas, us and probably Oklahoma State but I think the competitiveness from the top to the bottom is the best that I’ve seen in a longtime,” head coach Wes Kittley said. “On the women’s side, I think we are taking over half the team of freshman women and we have very few upper classmen so I’m really hoping we can get in the top half.”
The meet begins with the women’s multi events at 10 a.m. with the field and running events starting at 3 p.m. The meet will pick up again at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
