Saturday night Texas Tech knocked off Oklahoma State in Stillwater 71-61, for the first time since 2003.
The Red Raiders won their fourth straight Big 12 game for the first time since the 2006-07 season.
Tech improved to (17-9, 7-7 Big 12) this season.
Texas Tech senior guard Toddrick Gotcher led the Red Raiders in scoring with a career-high 24 points on the night on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, including 5-of-7 from 3-point land. Gotcher scored 21 of his 24 points in the second half.
Entering Saturday ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi said Texas Tech was one of his last four teams “in” the NCAA tournament. With the win in Stillwater, Texas Tech now has four games left to play, and only needs one more win over that span to reach (8-10) in Big 12 play. Last season, two different teams from the Big 12, Oklahoma State and Texas, made it to the dance with only eight conference wins.
Texas Tech will return home and face TCU on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 8 pm at the United Supermarkets Arena.
