Texas Tech runs past North Texas, 70-43

On a night where the Red Raiders offense wasn’t clicking on all cylinders, they found out a way to run past North Texas with stifling defense, 70-43.

Texas Tech held the Mean Green to a season-low scoring output, on just 28.8% shooting from the floor.

The Red Raiders also turned 16 UNT turnovers into 24 points, and outscored the Mean Green 24-2 in points off turnovers.

Texas Tech’s junior forward Zach Smith was the player of the game, earning his first double-double of the season with 11 points on 5-of-8 from the field, as well as 11 rebounds on the night.

While Texas Tech struggled to score, only scoring 70 points on 43.1% shooting, the offensive attack did feature 10 different scorers.

The Red Raiders host Eastern Kentucky this Saturday at 12 p.m. this Saturday before traveling to face Auburn in the opening round of the 2016 Cancun Challenge.
