Texas Tech softball dropped to 10-15 on the season with a 17-3 five-inning loss to No. 10 Texas A&M to close out their three game series at Aggie Softball Complex.        
The Red Raiders struck first as Kierra Miles, who reached on a fielder’s choice, was brought in by a Jessica Hartwell single. The inning would end on a great play by the Texas A&M first baseman who turned and threw Kirsten Schwirtlich out at third.
The Aggies had yet another fast start in game three totaling seven runs off four hits to build a 7-1 lead heading to the second. Through the weekend, the Aggies outscored the Red Raiders 20-1 in the first inning of play.
The Red Raiders added two more runs in the second as Warnecke blasted her second home run of the season, trimming the Texas A&M lead to 7-3.
Texas A&M began the home half of the second with back-to-back home runs before stringing together two more hits to score a total of six runs to extend the lead to 13-3 heading to the third.
Following scoreless third and fourth innings for the Red Raiders, the Aggies struck again in the fourth with a two out grand slam by Cali Lanphear, stretching the lead to 17-3. With the Red Raiders unable to, the Aggies completed the run rule victory.
With Sunday’s loss, the Red Raiders fell to 11-30 all-time against the Aggies including a 4-15 mark in College Station.
