The Texas Tech volleyball team opened practice with a new coach, and a new vision on Tuesday afternoon.

First year head volleyball coach, Tony Graystone has the benefit of 11 Red Raiders returning from last year’s squad, including preseason All-Big 12 honoree and senior Lauren Douglass.

Last season, Douglass led the team in kills, kills per set, hitting percentage and at the net blocking. Her attack percentage of .377 broke the single-season school record and helped her earn All-Big 12 and All-Region accolades. Senior setter Marguerite Grubb tallied 1,007 assists last season, putting her 27 away from cracking the all-time top 10 list in the school’s record books.

Tech also welcomes in 11 new faces to the program, including nine freshmen.
