Texas Tech volleyball head coach Tony Graystone has announced the 2017 spring schedule Wednesday, which features three events.
The Red Raiders will host the Texas Tech Spring Tournament Saturday, March 25, at United Supermarkets Arena, with play beginning at 9:30 a.m. Several teams will be participating, including Abilene Christian, Angelo State, Wayland Baptist, Midland College, Cisco College, UT Permian Basin and Frank Phillips College.
Tech plays host to Wayland Baptist on Wednesday, April 5, at United Supermarkets Arena at 6 p.m.
The Red Raiders close the spring with a trip to the Lone Star Classic College Showcase on Saturday, April 15, at Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Arena in Dallas.
Admission to both home events is complimentary for all fans planning to attend. A limited concession stand will be available for fans in the arena.
The Red Raiders return 13 student-athletes from last year’s squad, including junior libero Reyn Akiu, who posted the school’s second-highest single-season dig total last fall on her way to All-Big 12 Second Team honors. Akiu and junior Missy Owens, a midterm transfer from Long Beach State, participated in the U.S. National Team Open Tryouts earlier this month in Colorado Springs, Colo.
