The Pioneers improved to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play with a 24-14 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God Saturday afternoon.

Wayland was down 14-0 at the end of the first half but took advantage of five second half interceptions, four of which came inside their own 20 yard line, to score 24 unanswered points.

Strong safety Travis White set a school record with three interceptions today, giving him a total of seven on the year also a school record.

Next weekend the Pioneers travel to Tyler to take on Texas College who is 0-5 on the season.
