Welker who played for the for the Dolphins from 2004-2006 stopped by to visit Miami’s first year head coach Adam Gase, who coached Welker as an assistant with the Denver Broncos from 2009-2014. Welker also popped in to visit another former Texas Tech wideout Jakeem Grant, who is preparing to play his rookies season with the ‘Phins.

After practice last week, Welker stopped by the Dolphins digital show called “The Audible” to talk everything from his retirement, to the Dolphins sixth-round pick out of Texas Tech, Jakeem Grant.

“We both came from Texas Tech, same type of offense. I think just from that aspect it’s going to take a big of time, but that kid has a lot more juice than I ever did,” Welker said. “He has a lot more juice than a lot of people out there, but he’s doing some really good things out there and he listens. So explosive, and he’s off to a really good start, and I think well ahead of even where I was at that point.”
