The Lubbock High Westerner baseball team has officially started their season after a weekend in El Paso, which saw the Westerners go 2-3.

Lubbock High returns only 3 starters from last years team, which finished the year 9-25. So far this season, Coach Steve Ribera said what has him most excited is how the team has gelled.

“I like the team chemistry so far,” Ribera said. “They’ve been real good, it’s a good group, they get along real well, they like each other, probably that’s our biggest strength right now, and that’ll go a long way. But we also have to start putting together some better defense, some better offense, some better pitching together. But right now, I really like our team chemistry.”
