The Lubbock High tennis team competed in the first day of the Region 1 tournament on Monday at the McCloud Tennis Center.
Jonathan Welsh and Hannah Jackson advanced to the finals on Tuesday morning at 8am, with a trip to the state tournament on the line. Michael Azatian will compete in the third place match of boys’ singles, while Peyton Trebisky and Cherokee Hernandez will compete in the third place match of girls’ doubles, with a chance for a playback match.
