In this week’s edition of Where Are They Now, KLBK Sports sat down with legendary Monterey baseball coach Bobby Moegle.  Coach Moegle’s accolades are well documented…thirty-three district championships; ten times state runner up; four state championships; National Coach of the Year; three time Texas High School Coach of the Year.  Moegle has an overall record of 1,114 and 226.  That’s a winning percentage of 83 in forty years of coaching.

Coach Moegle has been inducted into the Texas High School Coach Association Hall of Game, Southwestern University Hall of Fame, Texas Sports Hall of Game and the LISD Hall of Honor.

“You know when I first started, all I did was just coach baseball.  I wasn’t worried about personalities.  I wasn’t worried about the future.  But since I retired, you can go back and see the impact that you had on young men at that time.”

Coach Moegle is still very much a fan of the game today, and has taken a keen interest in the Texas Tech Baseball team and the kind of team Coach Tim Tadlock and his assistants have built.

His hope for future athletes?

“I encourage all kids to find a sport.  Not particularly baseball, but something that still has discipline.  You have a goal and you learn how to do things right.”
