The Texas Tech Women’s Tennis team (18-3, 6-0 Big 12) climbed to No. 5 in the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings, tying the program high for the second time this season.

The Lady Raiders continued their 11-match win streak as they defeated No. 7 Oklahoma State (4-2) and No. 36 Oklahoma (4-2) last weekend.

Junior Gabriela Talaba jumped to No. 10 in the singles rankings, earning her highest ranking of her collegiate career. Last weekend, Talaba went 1-1 against two Top 25 opponents. She fell to No. 19 Viktoriya Lushkova of Oklahoma State (6-1, 6-3) before defeating Oklahoma’s No. 24 Lily Miyazaki 6-3, 6-4.

Sophomore Felicity Maltby stayed at No. 56 while Alex Valenstein jumped back into the rankings at No. 118. Valenstein picked up a three-set win over No. 42 Aliona Bolsova (OSU) on Friday.

In doubles, Sarah Dvorak and Sabrina Federici moved up to No. 29 after a 2-0 weekend. The two defeated No. 5 Vladica Babic and Carla Tur Mari, 6-2, to clinch the doubles points against Oklahoma State on Friday.

Doubles duo Talaba and Maltby also moved up to No. 56 in the newest rankings. Alba Cortina-Pou and Alex Valenstein earned their first ranking as a doubles pair after claiming their first ranked win of the season. The duo defeated No. 44 Lushkova and Katarina Adamovic (OSU) 6-1 and Ann Selim and Simran Sethi (OU) 6-1 for a 2-0 weekend.

The Lady Raiders will host the final two Big 12 home matches of the season this weekend. Tech is set to face Iowa State on Friday at 3 p.m. and West Virginia on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
